Moong Dal Idli is a delectable variation of the traditional South Indian dish, Idli, and it's so easy to make that you'll want to have it for your breakfast or light lunch every day.
 
Ingredients:
100g moong dal
100g urad dal
100g rice
500ml water
1/2 tsp hing
1 tbsp ginger
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp salt
 
Method:
Place the moong dal, urad dal and rice in a bowl. Add water and soak overnight.
Drain the dals and rice and transfer into a grinder.
Add hing, ginger, turmeric powder, salt, and grind to a fine paste.
Ferment the batter for at least 4 hours.
Grease the idli moulds and pour out the batter into it.
Top the idli batter with coriander leaves, and steam them for 12 minutes or until done.
Serve hot with a variety of chutneys and sambhar.
