Winter is just the time to indulge in the goodness and delicious flavours of bathua. Try this easy Bathua Chole Masala recipe today.
 
Ingredients:
100G CHICKPEAS
200ML WATER
1 TSP SALT
1 TSP TURMERIC
2 TBSP OIL
1 TBSP GINGER
1 TSP GARLIC
1 TBSP GREEN CHILLIES
1 CUP ONIONS
1 CUP TOMATOES
SALT TO TASTE
1 TSP TURMERIC POWDER
1 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER
1 TSP CORIANDER POWDER
150G Bathua LEAVES
ADD THE CHICKPEA WATER
1 TSP GARAM MASALA
 
Method:
Place the chickpeas in a cooker.
Add water, turmeric powder and salr, and cook for 4 whistles.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add ginger, garlic, green chillies, and saute.
Now add chopped onions and cook until the onions turn slightly golden.
Add the tomatoes and cook them as well.
Now add turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and mix well.
Add the bathua leaves and cover the pan to let them wilt.
Once they have wilted, mix them well.
Add the cooked chickpeas, the chickpea water from the cooker and mix well.
Cover and cook until the curry dries up.
Add garam masala, cook for a few minutes and serve.
